Even a pundit like David Brooks once said that while the real connection in European countries is with their culture, the essential connection in America is with nature. If we study ancient cultures or more recent indigenous ones, the ties that are so ritually celebrated are ever with nature and especially springs and the aquifers, the source of and partner in existence.
