The water is more green now than blue, I am afraid we may be too far gone. I can remember when the Homosassa was just like this in the early 70’s. Now it is so green and cloudy you can’t see bottom.

So fortunate to spend time there before the rush. If you went in the middle of the week you had the whole place to yourselves. Paradise!

Beautiful spot, I will never forget the kayak race that the lead kayak hit the narrow and a gator charged from screen left, chomped leaving holes in the kayak, at least it didn’t hang on and drag the boat down, duck tap, and continue the race. No, it was not me in the lead that time.

No one would be standing and the SAV covered the bottom.

That’s how I remember it from 1975 and the reason I will never return. At least it is preserved in my memory.
